Three ways to write with me
And a little note of appreciation
The past two weeks have been a whirlwind of work and word magic…
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been working on a big project for one of my day jobs. It’s been full on and frentic (involving lots of sleepless nights and lists as long as my arm) but last weekend as we opened the doors on a week-long programme of events, despite being tired to my bones, I couldn’t help but smile. So proud of our team and what we managed to pull off on a shoestring budget and so overwhelmingly delighted to see so many people of all ages get stuck in and fully engage with what was on offer.
The whole week was a timely reminder of the joy and magic of community. It was also a delightful and uplifting reminder of how blooming incredible children’s brains are and what amazing journeys their imaginations can take them on. But most importantly, it highlighted how, in the face the a wild and wonky world, we all desperately need some joy, some wonder and a place and a space to commune and share our stories with each other. So here’s to more of this please!
Before I head off to the school run, I wanted to share three ways to write with me over the coming weeks and the date of the next Writers’ Block Speakeasy which I will be hosting in person in Redruth…
Co-Slow-Writing is back this Friday
Would you like a little moment to pause?
A little space to empty your pockets and pay attention to your words?
Come co-slow-write online with me this coming Friday!
Friday 5th June | 9:15 – 10:30 UK Time
This online session will last approximately one hour and fifteen minutes with a moment to pause and ground ourselves at the beginning and time at the end to have a little catch up (should you wish).
You don’t have to talk, you don’t have to bring anything specific to work on (I’ll share a prompt in the chat), you don’t have to have your camera on, the whole idea is just showing up and spending some time with your words in the company of others.
Please email me if you want a little nudge to remember on the day and I can send you a reminder.
These sessions are free to join but should you wish to support my work by making a donation, you are so welcome to. Any donations are so gratefully received and will go towards supporting my work and helping me make these sessions sustainable and accessible to all. Thank you so much!
Clemo Writers’ Club

The Writers’ Block Co-Write Sessions
In other news, I’m super excited to be running three in person co-writing sessions at The Writers’ Block this summer. These sessions are free, but donations are warmly welcomed and help cover the running costs of The Writers' Block, a not-for-profit organisation.
Thursday 18th June | Thursday 9th July | Thursday 6th August
18:00 - 19:30 | In person at The Writers’ Block in Redruth
The Writers’ Block Speakeasy
Join me at The Writers’ Block for an inspiring evening of poetry, prose, comedy, readings, and more. Everyone is welcome—whether you’d like to share your own writing or simply sit back, listen, and enjoy the creative talents of others.
In celebration of Summer, we’re encouraging poetry and prose that explore themes of the season: its beauty, its challenges, and love it or hate it, the ways it shapes our emotions and landscapes.
If you would like to read or perform your work, please book a ticket and email me at lucy@thewritersblock.org.uk
Sessions are free to attend, but please book a ticket in advance. Donations are warmly welcomed to help support The Writers’ Block!

Hi, these all sound so lovely. For the June 5th co-writing is that AM or PM?
