I’ve been thinking about
a lot this week. About the incredible light and legacy they left behind and all other poets out there who are no longer with us but have gifted us with so much.Rest in power Andrea.
Thank you for reminding me to polish my lens.
Thank you for reminding me to look at that which is right in front of me.
Thank you for reminding me to make sure I will leave this world with a heart covered with stretch marks.
May we all scatter your beautiful words forever more.
If a great poet dies
If a great poet dies
Remember to scatter their poems too
Let their words light up the world
Forging new constellations of connection and reflection
Across the void they leave behind
If a great poet dies
Remember to say their words aloud
Let them echo and vibrate
Into the now empty space
Feel their power resonate
If a great poet dies
Grieve their absence
Their loss
That space they leave behind
Cry tears for all the poems that didn’t get written
And lament the loss of their beautiful way of being
But don’t forget all the gifts they gave us
For though they have now returned their borrowed dust back to the stars
See what light they left behind
This is such a lovely tribute. I'm forever grateful to Andrea for sharing their gifts with us so openly and vulnerably. How lucky are we ♥
A beautiful tribute. 🤍
